Bright Victoria – How To Get There

If you are traveling to Bright Victoria from Melbourne, access is available via the Hume Highway, following the Great Alpine Road from Wangaratta. This is a lovely way to drive to Bright, offering great views over Mt Buffalo, and plenty of places to stop and enjoy the local produce. Do be aware that roads can be icy in Winter, and although no snow chains are required to travel to Bright, care is required especially when traveling to other towns such as Harrietvile and Mt Beauty.

Access is also available via Bairnsdale and Omeo, however travel during Winter can be long, and chains are required along the Great Alpine Road. In the warmer months, this is the more scenic approach, with the Great Alpine Road being one of the most scenic roads in Victoria to travel with views especially over Mt Hotham being some of the best in Victoria. This is a much longer way to travel to Bright Victoria.
